<p>In order to improve high-speed performance, the chuck, which comprises as its main parts the arbor (10), the chuck piece (12), the pulley piece (23), the taper-sleeve piece (15) and the tool-holding members (27), is equipped with ball bearings (19, 20) with axial play- compensation, an annular seat of which is mounted with slight interference or mounted with allowance (21) and is pushed back by axial helical rammer springs (22a). The construction also permits a very compact format of the rotating parts (12, 23). This chuck is suitable for cutting work at high speeds of rotation, typically 12,000 r/min. <IMAGE></p> |
