<p>An optical semiconductor module comprises an optical semiconductor assembly (9) having a light transmitting aperture (14), a housing (1) having a joint surface (16) at its one end to be joined to the optical semiconductor assembly, an outer male screw portion (2) and a first hole (24) for receiving an optical fiber supporter at its other end, a lens (6) held in a second hole formed in the housing so as to be in communicatively alignment with the light transmitting aperture (14) and the first hole (24). A slitted sleeve (18) is placed in a hole (19a,19b) communicated with the first hole (24) and a dummy ferrule (20) with an axially extending central bore (21) for passing light is placed between the first hole (24) and the lens (6). One end portion of the dummy ferrule (20) is inserted in the slitted sleeve (18) so as to be in contact with the optical fiber supporter when it is fitted.</p> |
