PURPOSE:To collate a wide variety of data over a wide range by receiving a collection data splittingly sent and outputting the result of collation with a stored collation data after all collation data are received. CONSTITUTION:A collation data is inputted from a keyboard 4. A control section 3 sends the inputted collation data to a control element 11 of an IC card 1 split in the unit of transmission. At first, a data having a data length 8 representing the number (digit) of data within a range (4 digits) possible for transmission (e.g., 1, 3, 5, 7) is sent as one block B1 and the remaining 4-digit data (e.g., 9, 2, 4, 6) is sent as a consecutive block B2. The element 11 receives the collation data sequentially and stores it in a built-in RAM tentatively. After all collation data are received, they are compared with the collation data stored in the data memory 12 and the result of comparison is returned to the control section 3. Thus, a wide variety of data numbers are collated.
