ADSORBENT FOR RECOVERING GROUP VIII NOBLE METALLIC COMPLEX AND RECOVERING METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain an adsorbent for recovery capable of recovering group VIII noble metallic complex nearly quantitatively by depositing organic phosphorus compd. furthermore on activated carbon previously subjected to oxidizing treatment. CONSTITUTION:Firstly activated carbon is preferably oxidized with nitric acid or oxidized with air or oxygen under high temp. Then an adsorbent for recovering group VIII noble metallic complex is obtained by depositing organic phosphorus compd. (e.g. triphenylphosphite and triphenylphosphine or the like) on activated carbon subjected to oxidizing treatment. Further activated carbon before oxidizing treatment preferably has a fine pore distribution not less than 0.35ml/g fine pore volume in a range of 20-300Angstrom fine pore diameter. The deposited amount of organic phosphorus compd. for activated carbon subjected to oxidizing treatment is preferably set at a range of 0.1-5m-mol/g.
