PURPOSE:To obtain a resin compsn. capable of forming molded products and coating films having improved physical properties and high gloss and transparency, by blending an acid solution of a silicate glass with a thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:A resin compsn. contains an acid solution of silicate glass and a thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin. As the silicate glass, those which are easily soluble in acids are preferred. Among them, those having a composition consisting of 35-47wt.% SiO2, 9-15wt.% Al2O3, 15-30wt.% CaO, 0-7wt.% MgO, 17-22wt.% Na2O and 0-4wt.% K2O in such a proportion that the total amount of Na2O and K2O is 18-22wt.% are particularly preferred, because they give acid solutions which are transparent and hence they give transparent resin compsn. In dissolving the silicate glass in an acid, pref. 6-60g of silicate glass is mixed with one equivalent of an acid.
