PURPOSE:To prevent a rolled recording paper sheet even having a small core diameter from jamming due to curls, by providing a recording paper retaining member for pressing the recording paper sheet against a recording paper guide. CONSTITUTION:During wind-off mode or printing mode, one end part 17a of a recording paper retaining member 17 is pressed due to the resiliency of a curling part which generates in the leading end section of a heat-sensitive paper sheet 11 so that the recording paper retaining member 17 is rotated in the direction (d) about a support shaft (p) as a rotating center. Accordingly, the other end part 17b of the recording paper retaining member 17 is depressed in the direction (e). Due to such a swinging motion the heat-sensitive paper sheet 11 may smoothly pass through between the recording paper retaining member 17 and a recording paper guide 16. In this phase, the curl of the leading end of the heat-sensitive paper sheet 11 is corrected by means of the recording paper guide 16 bent in the direction reverse to the curling direction of the heat-sensitive paper sheet 11 and the recording paper retaining member 17.
