摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent a large amount of unburnt gas from being discharged, by gradually incresing the rotational speed of an engine just after the starting of engine complete combustion, with a rotational speed corresponding to the temperature rise of an exhaust gas purifying device. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst converter 3 is disposed in an exhaust passage 2 in an engine body 1. A fuel injection nozzle 8 disposed downstream of a throttle valve 7 feeds a fuel in an amount in accordance with the amount of intake-air which is metered through an air-flowmeter 6. An air control valve 10 regulates the amount of air flowing through a bypass passage 9. The air control valve 10 is controlled such that the rotational speed of the engine coincides with a desired rotational speed in accordance with signals from a rotational speed sensor 11, etc. This desired rotational speed is gradually increases with a rotational speed corresponding to the temperature rise of an exhaust gas purifying device. With this arrangement, a large amount of unburnt gas is prevented from being discharged.
