[Also in Division A4] Tank cleaning apparatus comprises at least two spray arms 12, 13 extending from and rotatably adjustable on a body 10 rotatably mounted on a hollow support 11 through which cleaning liquid may be fed to the arms 12, 13 to be discharged on the tank surfaces to be cleaned through outlets 35, 38, 40, at least one of which is so arranged that liquid flow therethrough rotates the body 10 and the arms 12, 13 about the support 11. In the embodiment illustrated the rotation of the body 10 is effected by the liquid flow through the nozzles 38 each of which projects from a member 37 threaded into an arm 12 and secured in a desired angular position by a threaded lock ring 39. Each arm 12 is curved so that its free end extends parallel to the support 11 in either of two opposite directions, a grub screw 21 securing the arm 12 to the body 10 being engaged in either of two diametrically opposed holes 22 in the arm 12. Each arm 13 is connected to the body 10 by a screw 21 received in one of eight holes 22 in the arm 13 and is either straight as shown or curved similarly to arm 12. Further embodiments comprise four arms 13, which are straight and provided with end jets directed to effect rotation of the body 10, or the arms 13 may be cranked for the same purpose. As a further alternative two spray arm assemblies may be coupled together by a rotatable cross tube through which liquid is supplied to the two assemblies. |
