An arrangement for predrying fabric warp K continuously fed from sizing vat 2 to contact cylinder drier 4 comprises an outlet slot 13 for hot air and a suction slot 11 at the opposite side of the warp K, both slots being disposed perpendicular to the warp and extending over its width, the amount of air being taken into suction slot 11 by means of fan 8 being at least equal to that discharged from outlet 13. Slot 13 includes vertical fins for distributing the air flow, the fins being mounted on a heating element (Figs. 3, 4, not shown). Air is taken in from hood 6 above contact drier 4 and from the atmosphere via pipe 20, flap valves 9 and 21 controlling the flow. Branch ducts (16) (Fig. 3, not shown), 17, controlled by flaps (18), (19) (Fig. 3) lead the air to outlet slot 13. Suction of air from slot 11 is mainly controlled by flap valves 12. |
