PURPOSE:To precisely position a guide mechanism with the use of a simple drive mechanism by forming longitudinal and transverse grooves in an intermediate tray, and by connecting an end guide and a side guide, respectively to wires which are driven independently from each other and each of which is driven by a motor so that the end and side guides are moved along the abovementioned guides. CONSTITUTION:A guide drive device 3 is driven to drive an end guide 10 and a side guide, independently from each other through the intermediary of wires 25, 26. In this phase, data concerning the size of sheets is delivered from a control device in a copying machine, and therefore, an end guide pulley and a side guide pulley are rotated in accordance with the data. Thus, the guides are moved corresponding to the sizes of respective kinds of sheets, and therefore, they may surely press against the side surfaces of sheets even having a nonstandard shape so that the sheets may be surely positioned. Further, it is possible to simplify the drive mechanism. |
