An imagewise exposed, two-component diazotype material is developed by contacting it with the vapour of an aliphatic amine at above atmospheric pressure. Specified amines are mono-, di- and tri-methylamine and ethylamine which may be mixed with air, water vapour or halogenated hydrocarbons such as dichlorodifluoromethane. The pressure used may be 20-45 psia and development may also be carried out at elevated temperature. The development with amines is also compared with Specification 1,043,836 in which anhydrous ammonia is used. |
