摘要 1,255,986. Making rod; working at specified temperatures. CENTRE NATIONAL DE RECHERCHES METALLURGIQUES. 17 Oct., 1969 [17 Oct., 1968], No. 51036/69. Headings B3A and B3V. Steel wire is produced by cooling the wire from an austenitic state to a temperature at which austenite is not stable, subjecting it at this temperature to one or more rolling passes, each followed by water cooling so that the rod returns to the working temperature, coiling it after it has transformed to a pearlitic structure and allowing it to cool to ambient temperature. After passing the rod through rolling strands and water cooling devices to cool it to an unstable austenite temperature e.g. 550‹ C., the rod is given a first rolling pass before transformation begins, cooled to maintain the temperature at 550‹ C., given a second pass during the transformation and then cooled again. When transformation is complete the rod is coiled to produce a rod which has spheroidized carbides and improved mechanical properties after drawing.
