The subject of the application is a method for producing platelike furniture front parts with corners and/or edges which are rounded or softened at the front side towards the narrow sides and with a surface coating at the front side, consisting of plastic foil. For this purpose, it is now proposed to apply the plastic foil to the visible side of a carrier element in one piece, without disturbing joints and distortions. To this end, a plastic foil capable of being deep-drawn under heat is used. This foil is deep-drawn over a mould core and removed therefrom after cooling in the form of a one-piece rigid mask and is fitted over a carrier core whose contact sides are identical or congruent to the upper sides of the mould core, the contact sides of the mask and/or the carrier core previously being wetted with adhesive.
