In CD players, part of the redundant content description of a CD is entered in a memory. Because, at the start of entry, the positioning of the scanning light beam has a random character, it can sometimes be a relatively long time before the light beam strikes the first block (AO) of the content description at which storage begins. …<??>To reduce the entry time in the memory, the light beam is guided from the block which it strikes at random at the beginning until the first block (AO). According to a second solution, the data to be stored is stored, starting with the block which the light beam strikes at random at the beginning, up to the next block of the same content. In a third solution, storage begins at the block which the light beam strikes at random at the beginning. When the last block to be stored is reached, the light beam jumps to the first block (AO) in order to store the remaining data. |
