The gripper shuttle loom is returned after a successful weft insertion process and after the deceleration of the gripper shuttle in the catch mechanism. The drive of the returning slider (20) is designed so that the slider is accelerated slowly during the returning motion and decelerated more rapidly so that the acceleration time is at least 60% of the total movement time from one dead centre to another. The returning slider head (21) forms the slider (20) part facing the gripper shuttle (10). The returning slider is driven by a cam drum (50) via a slider fishplate (40) and a lever (30). While the cam drum is driven continuously by the main drive of the loom, the lever executes a discontinuous swivel motion during the returning process. The returning slider glides horizontally between guides (22,23) and pushes the gripper shuttle into the position in which it is pushed by an ejector (60) out of the catch mechanism (70). |
