NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I having the following physicochemical properties: Appearance, white powder; molecular weight, 316; molecular formula, C19H24O4; EI mass spectrum, m/z=316; solubility, soluble in ethanol, methanol, methyl acetate and chloroform, insoluble in water and hexane, etc. USE:An anticancer agent. PREPARATION:Acremonium strictum N,N 106 strain (FERM P-9143) is cultivated in a culture medium and the 4-androsterone-3,17-dione used as a substrate is dissolved in DMF and the solution is added to the above-mentioned culture medium to carry out reaction. After the reaction, the supernatant is extracted with ethyl acetate and a solvent component is removed from the extract to provide a roughly refined fraction, which is then subjected with chromatography treatment to collect 6beta,14alpha-dihydroxy-4-androstene-3,17-dione, which is further treated with an oxidant. |
