1279302 Hydrogen peroxide DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 3 Sept 1969 [16 Sept 1968] 43515/69 Heading C1A A non-aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide is produced by separating hydrogen peroxide from a working solution obtained after the oxidation stage in the anthraquinone process, by means of a stripping distillation under reduced pressure, with the vapour of an organic solvent as a stripping agent, and after condensation, is obtained in the form of a non-aqueous solution in the stripping solvent; any components of the working solution simultaneously separated in the distillation being deposited in a phase separation vessel and returned to the working solution. The " working solution " is a solution of one or more alkyl anthraquinones in a high boiling point solvent, resistant to both oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. The stripping agent may be a carboxylic acid, such as formic acid, acetic acid or propionic acid, an ester, such as ethyl acetate, propyl acetate or butyl acetate, or an alcohol such as propanol, butanol or cyclohexanol. Mixtures of these compounds may also be used.
