1,266,394. Photosensitive titanium dioxide material. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 30 Oct., 1969 [4 Nov., 1968], No. 53257/69. Heading H1K. [Also in Division G2] A photographic material containing a light - sensitive layer comprising titanium dioxide particles complexed with an Organic ligand containing a bleachable, nitrogen-containing group and a polydentate chelating group in which the electron-donating atoms are separated from one another by 2 or 3 intervening atoms in the ligand molecule, said particles and ligand forming coloured complex, is imagewise exposed, physically developed to form a silver image, and treated with a silver-dyebleach solution to form-a positive colour image. The titanium dioxide particles may be microcrystalline and formed by vacuum deposition, and the ligands include 1:2-dihydroxy-5-(2- sodiumsulphophenyl) amino - 8 - (2 - sodiumsulpho - 4 methylphenyl) aminoanthraquinone and -4 - (2: 4 - dinitrophenylhydrazonomethyl)- pyrocatechol. Physical development is effected by treatment first with silver nitrate solution and then with-a silver physical developer solution. Conventional silver-dye-bleach baths containing thiourea and 2-hydroxy-3-aminophenazine are used. Suitable supports for the light-sensitive layer are specified as are techniques for forming the layer. Specification 1,237,623 is referred to. |
