The growing system comprises a water vessel, such as a pipe, through which nutrient liq. is continuously or intermittently circulated. Openings in the pipe accommodate seedling vessels, these each being open at the ends and perforated at the bottom where it is immersed in the liq. The top end protrudes from the pipe and contains an inert moisture-absorbent medium. A detachable sleeve section is filled with growth material in contact with the medium. Thus when the seed has grown to the desired height, the seed and the sleeve section are removed and replaced by fresh ones. |
