PURPOSE:To decrease the processing process and to shorten the processing time, and also, to make the device miniature and compact by moving a magnetic head in the draw-in direction of a magnetic card and writing magnetic information, and checking it in a return process of the head. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic card is taken into a body 21 through a card insertion port 33, a photosensor 34 and a feed belt 36, etc., first of all, magnetic information is read by a magnetic head 32, and subsequently, the head 32 moves in the same direction as the inserting direction of the card and the magnetic information is written. That is, when the card is taken into the body 21, a driving motor II 23 is driven, the head 32 moves in the same direction as the inserting direction of the card through a feed belt 27 and the magnetic information is written in the card. When write is ended, the head 32 moves in the reverse direction, whether the magnetic information has been written correctly in the card or not is checked, and thereafter, a motor I 22 is turned in reverse and the card is returned. In such a way, with respect to the processing process which has required six processes up to the present, four processes are enough and, the processing time can be shortened, and also, the device can be made miniature and compact.
