The method relates to polymers used for orientated molecules and it comprises the following successive steps: heating the polymer to a temperature T1 higher than the vitreous transition temperature Tv of the polymer, application of a continuous electric field to the polymer thereby modifying the orientation of polar groups, cooling the polymer to a temperature T2 lower than the vitreous transition temperature Tv of the polymer and suppression of the electric field.
