PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve both starting ignitability and rising of output in normal operation mode by providing a glow plug on the axial center of a specified nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A glow plug 5 is provided arranged on axial center of a nozzle 20D nearest to an intake port 21, faced to a cavity wall 11 situated on deviated side of a fuel injection valve 4 to axial center P of a cavity 10 and yet formed on a cylinder head side, among respective nozzles 20A-20D in a fuel injection valve 4. Thereby on starting, fuel spray 30D, situated at the place where mixing action of air with fuel is bed, is heated directly by a glow plug 5 arranged in this place. Again in normal operation range, the glow plug 5 is provided avoiding the place where mixing action is best in the cavity 10 therefore mixing action of air with fuel through swirl S is maintained in high level.
