PURPOSE:To prevent a drawing from being complicated due to a longer leader line than a desired length by selecting one point on the periphery of a polygon area in which a distance between a start point and an end point is minimum and defining it to be the start point. CONSTITUTION:When the coordinates of both the side end points of the lower side of the polygon area 15 to which the leader line EL is added by an input device 1 are inputted, a CPU 2 calculates the respective distances between the end point EP of lines EL and both the end points. Then, the calculated distances are compared, the end point of the side end or the like corresponding to the shorter distance is selected as the start point SP and the leader line EL of the shortest distance is automatically decided. Accordingly, the drawing is prevented from being complicated due to the longer leader line than the desired length generated in the case of fixing the start end only to one end point and the drawing can be easily and effectively read.
