Socket with terminal of the barrel type, having radial elasticity, for electrical connections. This socket 40, 42, 44; 28, 30 comprises a blank 20, made of metal sheet, in which is formed, by cutting out, a plurality of parallel and longitudinal strips 24, uniformly spaced apart and connected at their ends to two transversely spaced cores 22; this blank is rolled up in order to form a cylinder and then tightly fitted into a cylindrical sleeve 28, one end of the blank being permanently fixed to the sleeve 28, whereas the other end is angularly offset by rotation about the axis of the cylinder through a predetermined angle, before being permanently locked in place with respect to the sleeve 28 in this offset position.
