For producing a ski component which can be used as a surface component or running surface component, a first layer (3) of a liquid thermosetting synthetic resin is produced, onto which one or more layers of fibrous material are applied, of which, if appropriate, one consists of a woven glass fibre fabric as reinforcing material and at least one consists of a thin nonwoven glass fibre fabric (5, 8) provided with a porous thermoplastic coating on one side and which layers sink at least partly into said synthetic resin layer (3). Onto said fibre fabrics (5, 8), which each have a colour print (7) or a colour layer (6) on one side, there is laid a transparent cover sheet (9) which may previously have been provided with a second liquid synthetic resin layer (18) on its underside, whereupon the entirety is then hot-pressed and cured. The composite material is then subdivided into the ski components. According to a variant of the process, a synthetic fibre fabric is used as cover layer which bonds only weakly to the ski component and is peeled off when the ski component is used. <IMAGE>
