A process and an arrangement are specified for measuring the recording and reproducing signal paths in the electronic-electronic operation of a magnetic recording and reproducing device. In order to include all the components of the recording and reproducing signal paths, in particular also those components on a rotating head wheel disk, such as rotating transformers, recording amplifiers and reproducing preamplifiers, during the course of measuring in electronic-electronic operation, a coupling winding is used to transfer the magnetic stray field of a magnetic recording head to a magnetic reproducing head.
