PURPOSE:To reduce pollution of the open air and the generation of noise, by a method wherein, in a device which is provided with an engine and an electric motor serving as a power source, when it is decided that the open air is in a polluted state, the output of an electric motor is increased over an engine output according to an accel pedaling amount. CONSTITUTION:In a device which transmits the drive force of an engine 21 to front wheels 23R and 23L and transmits the drive force of electric motors 25 and 25 to rear wheels 24R and 24L, an accel sensor 29, detecting a pedaling amount of an accel pedal 28, and an air cleanliness detecting sensor 30, e.g. NOx sensor, are provided. Output signals from the sensors 29 and 30 are inputted to an electronic control circuit 31 to decide whether an NOx amount exceeds a given value. When the decision is YES, it is decided that the open is polluted, and a throttle opening and the output current of an electric motor are set according to an accel pedaling amount. Namely, during pollution of the open air, the output of the electric motor 25 is increased, and control is effected so that the output of an engine 21 is decreased. |
