A method for adjusting a digital controller, in which a read-only memory is provided for storing digital control parameters, is distinguished by the following steps: a) Instead of the read-only memory, a read-write memory is connected. b) A personal computer, in which a program to calculate the digital control parameters is available, is connected to the digital controller. c) The digital controller is tested. d) Improved control parameters which are derived from the testing are converted into digital control parameters. e) The control parameters which are determined by application of steps c) and d), repeated if necessary, are first stored in a non-volatile memory, and then transferred to a read-only memory. <IMAGE>
