摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To operate a rolling mill in an optimal automatic plate thickness control system in accordance with variations in rolling conditions and rolling situations by providing a function selecting and output processing part which adds arithmetic results of a control amount arithmetic part and outputs processed results to operation means for tension control or automatic plate thickness control. CONSTITUTION:Process data 36, control data 37, rolling condition data 38, device data 39, and setting data 40 are inputted into a data input part 31, which sends those data to an inference unit 32, which infers an optimal plate thickness control (AGC) system configuration and an optimal gain setting value by using the input data and a rule stored in a knowledge memory 33. Selection results of inferred tension control (ATC) and AGC function are outputted to a function selecting and output processing part 35 and ATC and AGC gains are outputted to an AGC, ATC control amount arithmetic part 34. The part 35 selects functions of ATC and AGC and outputs commands, etc., to the part 34 and adds a control amount and outputs the added value to a stand speed controllers 6, 7 and a draft controller.</p>
