The application relates to a passenger or estate car with internal combustion engine arranged in the front of the vehicle and mudguards laterally defining the outline of the vehicle. The intention was to find a way of ensuring a favourable air intake for the internal combustion engine of the vehicle even in the case of vehicle bodies of aerodynamic design, which in the front end area have virtually only one opening for admission to the radiator. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the outer skin of at least one mudguard has at least one opening in its approximately vertical lateral area in a largely neutral air pressure zone, which opening is connected by means of a flexible line to an air filter of the internal combustion engine.
