PURPOSE:To reduce the processing time while eliminating the need for coding processing for addition of an RTC code by a coding section by providing a computer, a storage device having a control return (RTC) pattern storage area and a buffer memory to a control section. CONSTITUTION:An ROM storage device 102 is provided with an RTC pattern storage area shown in hatched lines and connected to a bus line 40 via a chip selector control 50. The picture data is subjected to MH coding by a coding section 20 and transferred to an RAM buffer memory 103 by the control of a DMAC (direct memory access controller) 30. When the final data is sent from the coding section 20, a final data transfer notice signal is given to a chip selector 50 from the DMAC 30. The MH coded picture signal is stored in the RAM buffer memory 103 from the modified Huffman (NH) code processing data and the RTC code is transferred and added to the after the picture signal from the ROM storage device 102. No firm processing is required during the processing.
