PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a transfer process, and also, to prevent disorder of a toner image on a transfer material, by providing a means for selecting and applying a DC voltage and an AC voltage the same in polarity, to both a transfer charger and a separation charger. CONSTITUTION:To a separation charger 8, a DC high voltage power source T1 and an AC high voltage power source S1 are connected through high voltage relays RT1, RS1, and to a transfer charger 7, a DC high voltage power source T2 and an AC voltage power source S2 are connected through high voltage relays RT2, RS2, and when a transfer process is started, the high voltage relay RT2 turns on by a signal from a transfer start sensor 30, the high voltage DC power source T2 is applied to the transfer charger 7, and by a signal of a transfer end sensor 31, a voltage application is disconnected. Subsequently, by a signal of a return start sensor 32, the high voltage relay RS1 turns on and the high voltage AC power source 31 is applied to the separation charger 7, and transfer paper 15 is separated electrostatically from a photosensitive drum 4. |
