PURPOSE:To obtain effective information for an analysis or a diagnosis of a fault by stopping an input/output operation of an I/O device by an arbitrary condition, designating arbitrary register, latch and memory in the I/O device, reading out or rewriting its contents, and thereafter, re-executing the input/ output operation. CONSTITUTION:When the I/O device 15 is stopped at an arbitrary time point in the course of an input/output operation, or by an arbitrary condition, an internal state of the I/O device 15 is not changed in a stopped state. In this state, arbitrary register 28, latching circuit 19 and a memory 6 are selected, its contents are read out or changed, and after these operations have been executed, retry of the input/output operation is executed with respect to the I/O device. Accordingly, the I/O device 15 stops temporarily its input/output operation, arbitrary state information is collected or the information is changed, but an execution of its input/output operation is not obstructed. In such a way, effective information for an analysis or a diagnosis of a fault of the device can be obtained. |
