PURPOSE:To reduce the directivity of a color display and to view a color display pattern of high quality by forming color filters of respective colors on respective lower electrodes at a prescribed repetitive period so that the border parts of the respective color filters are not on a straight line. CONSTITUTION:The respective color filters 6R, 6G and 6B are formed on three lower electrodes 4' opposing to an upper electrode 3 so that their area ratio is about 6:5:5. Further, the lower electrode 4' is easily formed by a vapor- depositing or sputtering method used to form a normal transparent conductive film. Here, the border parts of the color filters 6R, 6G and 6B of the respective colors are not on one straight line, but cross one another alternately so the directivity of the color display pattern is reduced and a display image with color balance is obtained. Further, the adjacent filters 6R, 6G and 6B are arranged while crossing one another, so the filters can be put at a close distance and color mixing effect becomes extremely excellent. Further, the pattern width of the electrodes 4' can be set wide, so color images of good quality are obtained. |
