PURPOSE:To make a sharp reduction in volume possible, solve the shortage of reclaimed land, and prevent the generation of a large quantity of unburnt carbon by incinerating wet waste containing chlorine such as marine algae. CONSTITUTION:Wet waste containing chlorine such as marine algae is charged from a feed bunker 3 into a hot air type dryer 1 and dried. As for a drying condition, the temp. of dry exhaust gas is kept at 300 deg.C or less or at approximate 200 deg.C desirably. Thereby, the wet waste with a water content of approximate 85wt.% is dried to a water content of about 40%. The temp. of dried article is mostly 80 deg.C at the web- bulb temp. of dry exhaust gas and 300 deg.C or less even in the part containing no water content at all. It does not occur that salt (NaCl) is decomposed to generate HCl gas. The dried article is charged into an incinerator 6 through a conveyor 4. Into the incinerator 6 combustion air and high temp. combustion gas are blown by a combustion air fan 9 and a burner 10 respectively and the temp. inside the incinerator is in the range of 600-1000 deg.C. When incineration temp. is 600 deg.C or more, foul odor generated at the time of drying is completely decomposed to be made odorless and the amount of unburnt carbon in incinerated exhaust gas is reduced by satisfactory combustion.
