The gas range includes a gas control knob (9) whose shaft (4) has an actuating lever (5) and a solenoid valve (3), and a timer knob (8) whose shaft (4') has an actuating lever (6) cooperating with the lever (5) and a solenoid valve (3'). Once the knob (9) turns on, the lever (5) pushes the lever (6) to the right, then the gas flows through the gas pipe (2). Then a timer (7) connected to the shaft (4') starts to run and automatically turns off the valve (3') after preset time so that the over-heatng is prevented even when the user forgets to turn off the gas range.
