PURPOSE:To improve adjusting accuracy and workability and to reduce the number of adjusting processes by providing a lens holder with an exciting means for exciting a locking chip in an optical axis direction and a fixing means for driving a rack gear for a locking chip against the exciting force of an exciting means, moving and adjusting a lens barrel in the optical axis direction and then fixing the lens barrel on an outer frame so as not to move it. CONSTITUTION:At the time of back focus adjustment, an adjusting jig 24 is prevented from being played by rotating the jig 24 against the exciting force of a pulling spring 27 and the lens barrel 15 is moved in the optical axis 16 direction in accordance with the rotation of the jig 24. Since the relation of the jig 24 to the moving distance of the lens barrel 15 corresponds to engaging relation between a pinion gear 26 and a rack gear 22, both values are directly proportional to each other. After completing said adjustment, the lens barrel 15 is fixed on the outer frame 11 by completely clamping a fixing screw 21 after adjustment and fixing the locking chip and then the jig 24 is removed to complete the back focus adjustment of the lens system. Since the rotational angle of the jig 24 is directly proportional to the moving distance of the lens barrel and the jig 24 is prevented from being played in the rotational direction, fine adjustment can be easily executed and the adjusting accuracy can be improved.
