PURPOSE:To structure the digital one-link telephone switched network of a speech encoder by providing a function for passing a call through the speech encoder. CONSTITUTION:Speech encoders 29 and 30 have means which output input values from a digital telephone exchange 26 to the speech encoders 29 and 30 to digital lines 29 and 30 as they are under the control of the digital telephone exchange 26 and means which output input values from the digital lines 32 and 33 to the speech encoders 29 and 30 to the digital telephone 26 as they are. A telephone exchange 25 sends the dial number of a telephone exchange 27 to the telephone exchange 26. The telephone exchange 26 controls the speech encoders 29 and 30 so that signals are passed through the speech encoder, and sends a received dial number to the telephone exchange 27 as it is.
