PURPOSE:To retrieve a test use data base without changing a program, by converting the logical page number of a production use data base to a logical page number of the test use data base. CONSTITUTION:A test use base generating part 8 copies the record of a production use data base 100 to a copying file 11 after converting a logical page number C1n generated from a record key number Xn by a randomized routine 4 to a logical page number C2n by a converting part 10, by which a test use data base 101 is generated. A retrieval of the data base 101 is executed by converting the logical page number C1n generated by the routine 4 from the number Xn, to C2n by the converting part C2n. In such a way, retrieval of the test use data base can be executed easily without changing an application program.
