PURPOSE:To mutually fix a corrugated plate and a flat plate without lowering purifying capacity, by forming a piercing hole to a core part by a non-contact type fusing method and subsequently inserting a wire through said piercing hole. CONSTITUTION:In a method for preparing the metal honeycomb carrier used in a catalyst converter, piercing holes 41, 43 are formed to a core part 31 using a non-contact type fusing method such as an electron beam fusing method and a wire 37 is inserted through the piercing holes 41, 43 and both ends of the wire 37 are connected. By this method, a film-out phenomenon can be surely prevented without bringing about the lowering in the purifying capacity of exhaust gas and the piercing holes can be rapidly formed with high accuracy. |
