PURPOSE:To carry out the change of feeding and compounding pattern of a raw cotton in high efficiency, by utilizing a selection number code inputted into a metering and controlling apparatus. CONSTITUTION:Raw cotton is supplied from plural series of raw cotton feeding apparatuses A-E to compounding apparatuses 8a, 8b (8). In the above process, metering and controlling apparatuses A1-E1 are provided corresponding to the raw cotton feeding apparatuses A-E and a feeding and compounding pattern of raw cotton is inputted as a selection number code to the controlling apparatus in advance. Setting devices 13a, 13b (13) for setting a feeding and compounding number are connected between the metering and controlling apparatuses A1-E1 and the compounding apparatus 8. When a feeding and compounding level signal is transmitted from the compounding apparatus 8, a binary signal corresponding to the level signal is transmitted from the setting devices 13. A selection number code of the metering and controlling apparatuses A1-E1 is selected according to the binary signal and raw cotton is metered and supplied from the raw cotton feeding apparatuses A-E to the compounding apparatus 8 according to the selected number code.
