<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the number of diodes so as to lower the probability of generation of picture element defects and to reduce cost by forming serially connected diodes of the discrete diodes connected to display media of respective picture elements and the discrete diodes of the plural picture elements as well as common diodes to be connected between line or row electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The diode row 51 consisting of plural pieces of the diodes 4 connected to the line electrodes 2 is common to the two picture elements and is connected to liquid crystals 32, 33 of the two picture elements via the discrete diode rows 52, 53 belonging to the respective picture elements. The diodes can be thereby decreased by as much as the number of the common diode rows 51 and, therefore, the picture element defects relating to the diodes are decreased and the cost reduction of the active matrix display device is permitted.</p> |
