PURPOSE:To enable sharp stereoscopy by inverting the right-left relation of one of a pair of images of stereoscopy previously. CONSTITUTION:A stereoscopic image 9 for the right eye can be seen with the right eye 7 through a polarizing filter 2 and a polarizing filter 4. A stereoscopic image 8 for the left eye is inverted in right-left relation by a prism 5 which performs inverting operation about the intermediate position between the stereoscopic image 8 for the left eye and stereoscopic image 9 for the right eye. The stereoscopic image 8 can, therefore, the seen with the left eye 6 through a polarizing filter 1 and a polarizing filter 3 as if it where at the position of the stereoscopic image 9 for the right eye. At this time, the axes of polarization of the polarizing filters 1 and 4 cross each other, so the image 8 for the left eye can not be seen with the right eye 7 and the image 9 for the right eye can not be seen with the left eye 6 either. Consequently, extremely sharp stereoscopy is possible.
