PERPENDICULAR MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density recording characteristic when the titled medium is used in combination with a ring type head by specifying the coercive force measured with respect to an angle between the traveling direction of the head and magnetic field within the plane inclusive of the normal direction of a substrate surface and the traveling direction of the head. CONSTITUTION:Hc(theta) is required to satisfy equation I and equation II when the coercive force measured with the angle between the traveling direction of the head and the measuring magnetic field as theta in the plane inclusive of the normal direction of the substrate surface and the traveling direction of the head is designated is Hc(theta). The excellent recording density characteristic is obtainable only when the above-mentioned two equations are simultaneously satisfied.
