摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the gas diffusivity of an electrode substrate, increase the retention quantity of an electrolyte of the electrode substrate, and improve the catalyst utilization factor by forming a catalyst layer/matrix combined body with the catalyst layer and the matrix layer. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst layer/matrix combined body is constituted of a catalyst layer 5 consisting of a catalyst filled layer 8 filled with catalyst powder and a binder from one face of a porous sheet 7 and a catalyst stuck layer 9 stuck with catalyst powder and the binder on the surface of the said catalyst filled layer 8, a matrix filled layer 10 filled with a matrix skeleton material and a fixing agent from the other face of the porous sheet 7, and a matrix stuck layer 11 stuck with the matrix skeleton material and the fixing agent on the surface of this filled layer 10. Accordingly, the gas diffusivity of an electrode substrate 1 is improved, and a cell having the high output voltage, a long life, and stable quality can be obtained.
