PURPOSE:To certainly supply a fastening metal fitting by separating a number of fastening metal fittings piled on an inclined chute one by one by a pair of separating arms and dropping said fastening metal fitting to a fastening position, in a fastening machine which produces a booklet-shaped calender. CONSTITUTION:A number of fastening metal fittings A piled on an inclined chute 10 are engaged with the both side hook parts of the fastening metal fitting A on the lowermost stage and successively separated one by one by the intermittent advance and retreat of the arm pin 32 of a pair of arm units 12. The separated fastening metal fitting A is held by the holding pin 34 of the arm member 36 of a pair of feeding mechanisms 14, and when the fastening metal fitting contacts a projecting guide 38 by the swing of the holding pin 34, the fastening metal fitting is dropped onto the inclined chute 10, and once received and held by the receiving member 46 of a positioning mechanism 16, and after positioning, the fastening metal fitting is sliding-dropped and supplied into the fastening position of a fastening mechanism arranged in the vicinity. Therefore, the fastening metal fitting can be supplied to the fastening position smoothly and certainly. Further, the worn-out part can be reduced, and durability can be improved.
