PURPOSE:To reduce number of parts and simplify construction by providing a stopping device, composed of a collet, steel balls, a steel ball retainer,a taper ring and a brake piston, on a pneumatic cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A piston rod 9 inside a pneumatic cylinder 2 is extended to the side of a stopping device 1, and around the outer periphery of the piston rod 9, the stopping device 1 is provided composed of a collet 50, plural numbers of steel balls 52, a steel ball retainer 54, a taper ring 58 and a brake piston 60. According to this, plural numbers o inclined rings or elastic bodies become needless, so number of parts becomes less and construction becomes simple as well.
