<p>PURPOSE:To control both plate width and edge drop and to improve quality by controlling the position of an edger vertical roll based on a value obtained by an arithmetic operation from the plate width and plate thickness distribution detected at the upstream and downstream of the edger. CONSTITUTION:The detected signals are inputted into an arithmetic unit 10 by a plate thickness detector 8 and plate thickness distribution detector 9. Based on a command from the arithmetic unit 10, presets of the edger vertical rolls 4a, 4b are performed through rolling reduction apparatuses 5a, 5b to make the plate width and an edge drop to be prescribed values. In this constitution of the apparatus, both plate width and edge drop can be controlled simultaneously.</p> |
