PURPOSE:To obtain the smooth driving by providing a fixing device for switching the differential condition to non-differential or differential on the center differential unit of 4WD and releasing the fixing device to obtain the differential condition at the time of the operation of a steering brake with the steering operation, then absorbing the rotational difference between front and rear wheels. CONSTITUTION:The output from a transmission case 31 is transmitted, through a center differential 34, to a front wheel driving shaft 21 and rear wheel driving shaft 30 so as to drive a front wheel 1 and rear wheel 3 through respective differential 2, 4. An operating cam 35 is mounted on the center differential 34 to form a differential fixing device 7 for switching the differential condition to non-differential or differential. At the time of turning, the braking of a power transmission of a turning side rear wheel by a steering operation while the operating cam 35 of the differential device 7 is operated so as to make the center differential 34 in the differential condition. With this arrangement, the rotational difference between the front wheel driving shaft 21 and rear wheel driving shaft 34 is absorbed by the center differential 34 so as to make the differential, thereby the rotational difference in the turning can be absorbed so as to obtain the smooth driving.
