The deformations due to the elasticity of the stressed materials and/or created by thermal expansion and/or induced by flow are built into the makeup of each component during the design phase so that the operating conditions imposed, which are normal under nominal load during use will be respected. The distribution of stresses becomes more uniform which increases the strength in an optimum fashion. The section to be manufactured is determined by successive approximations by simulating the nominal conditions by taking away the deformations which are evaluated so as to define the envelope to be machined. The method consists in evaluating or measuring the deformations. These are taken away by simulation or by successive modifications so as to obtain the envelope which will be reproduced in production on the components. The examples of application are threading with a differential pitch, the corrected involute and the directed stress shaft. Other means are necessary for manufacturing: orbital threading and see-saw cutting. They are described to solve the technical problem.
